Don’t all religions lead to God?

Since the earliest days—after Adam and Eve’s fall—humanity has felt the distance caused by sin and has searched for ways to reconnect with God. Through rituals, knowledge, traditions, and sincere efforts, people have tried to bridge that gap.

But according to Jesus and the message of the Bible, no religion, achievement, or human effort can make us right with God. While many religious systems offer valuable insights and promote good behavior, the Bible makes one thing clear: our core issue is sin. And the sin problem isn’t solved by effort—it’s solved by grace.

Jesus put it plainly:

“No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

The good news is that God has already provided the way. Jesus took our punishment upon himself. Through his death and resurrection, he offers not only forgiveness but also a restored relationship with the Father. As John 1:12 declares, To all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

While many religions teach noble principles and truths, only the Christian faith offers freedom from the burden of trying to earn a place with God.

Religion is often about what we must do to reach God. Christianity is about what Jesus has already done to reach us. Trusting in him—personally and fully—is the way we come home to God.
